Kingsville Council to Build Floating Docks

Kingsville Council is moving ahead with floating docks.

Council on Monday night voted to add the item to its 2020 capital budget.

Since June 13th, operations at the boat launch and fuel platform have been suspended, but recent temporary improvements have allowed boaters to launch safely for the rest of the season.

Administration recommended adding floating docks to its capital budget to deal with the historically high water levels.

Floating docks also work when the water levels are low.

Depending on the type of dock, the price can range between $45,000 and $115,000.

Council asked for a report on the life expectancy of the different types of docks, and pros and cons of each.
