Record Breaking Temperatures Could Be On The Way This Weekend
It may not be shorts and flip flop weather, but expect some records to be broken this weekend in Windsor-Essex.
Temperature are expected to hit 14C degrees on the weekend, which is about 13 degrees above normal.
Senior Climatologist with Environment Canada David Phillips says the above average temperatures are expected into the middle of next week.
"Also lots of sunshine, today, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. We may see a 30% chance of rain in the middle of next week but with warm temperatures," says Phillips. "It will feel like April kind of temperatures."
Phillips says the long range forecast is calling for warmer than normal, but not necessarily, double digit temperatures.
On February 18th, the record temperature was 12.9C set back in 2011.
On February 19th, the record temperature was 14.2C set back in 1994
On February 20th, the record temperature was 14C set back in 1983.
