Rodrigues named Offensive Player of the Week

Second-year Okanagan Sun running back Robbie Rodrigues has been named the BCFC’s Offensive Player of the Week.

In the Sun’s 24-10 win over the Langley Rams, Rodrigues rushed the ball 16 times for 183 yards, and also caught one pass for 52 yards.

Through nine regular season games, Rodrigues has 58 carries for 409 yards, and caught two passes for 69 yards.

His one touchdown actually came through the air, when he caught a 17-yard pass against the Valley Huskers on August 19.

He was nominated alongside Defensive Player of the Week Jeremie Drouin (Westshore, DL) and Special Teams nominee James Parker (Vancouver Island, K).

All three are up for the CJFL fan vote, along with their counterparts from the Prairie and Ontario divisions, which will conclude on Wednesday.

The Sun are back in action on Saturday night against the Westshore Rebels. Kickoff from Langford is set for 7 pm.
