Roger Daltrey Snaps At Pot-Smoking Fans
Roger Daltrey of The Who has a message for fans coming to the band’s concerts in Toronto and Vancouver: Leave your legal weed at home.
The 75-year-old rock legend harshed the buzz of fans at The Who’s concert Monday at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
“I gotta tell you, all the ones smoking grass down front here, I’m totally allergic to it,” Daltrey said. When the crowd laughed, he added: “I’m not kidding.
“Whoever it is down there, you f**ed my night and you made me really… I’m allergic to that s**t and my voice just goes [sound]. It sucks up. So f**k you!”
He then recommended edibles as an alternative. “Eat it,” he said.
Almost exactly four years ago, Daltrey went at pot-smoking fans at Nassau Coliseum in New York. "It will shut my voice down in 15 minutes if you keep doing it," he said. "I'm really sorry, I hate to spoil your fun. Can you please eat the s**t. Please! It takes 10 minutes longer to get high. You will shut my voice down and the show will be over."
The Who’s Moving On! Tour comes to Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on Sept. 3 and Vancouver’s Rogers Arena on Oct. 21.
