Shifting Winds Could Pose Problems: ERCA

The Essex Region Conservation Authority has issued an advisory about the impacts of the wind.

It says there is a possibility of lake ice being pushed onshore and the spray to worsen the already slippery and icy conditions along Lake Erie.

The forecast is calling for wind gusts of 25km/hour and up to 50km/hour.

It will also shift from an easterly to westerly direction and should die down late Wednesday night.

With the freeze-thaw conditions, there is also the potential for localized ponding because of the ice blockages.

Areas of concern are low lying areas, drainage catch basins and other surface drainage inlets.

The advisory is in effect until 10am on February 14th.
