St. Thomas man charged for alleged online threats to kill police officers
A 19-year-old St. Thomas man has been charged following alleged threats to kills police officers posted online.
On Tuesday afternoon, St. Thomas Police received information from a concerned citizen who saw a Facebook post on the University of Virginia’s page that said a man was planning to kill 13 officers.
A screen shot was taken of the post and forwarded to St. Thomas Police who identified the man and attended his address.
The suspect denied the threat initially but eventually admitted to making the post as a joke.
He was arrested for uttering threats to cause death and breach of probation.
He has been held in custody, pending a bail hearing.
