Star Defenceman Sean Day Glad To Be Back With Spitfires
Back from the New York Rangers camp and Hatford in the AHL, Defenceman Sean Day is practicing with the Spitfires today.
Day says he felt like he was going to come back because he was the younger guy and wasn't getting the minutes other players were.
Day says this year's version of the Spitfires has a different style of play he'll need to adapt to.
"I think last year a lot of the time we got by with skill" said Day "this year a lot of the guys are gone so it's a hard working team and obviously I'm willing to come back and add to that"
Day says he says he learned a lot in his 2nd NHL camp, how hard the players work and how good they are. But he felt comfortable in practices, drills and scrimmages.
He says having Trevor Letowski as head coach is positive for him because he was the Defence coach last year and he worked mostclosely with him.
Day expects to be playing big minutes on defence and looks to be a leader on the team.
