Work to Begin Soon to Repair Buckling on Highway 3
The tender to fix up Highway 3 around Manning Rd. which has repeatedly buckled in the heat, should be awarded by the end of August — which is slightly behind the original schedule by about a month.
The section of the highway has broken up under pressure six times since last summer.
According to the latest update from the Ministry of Transportation, the work was advertised in July.
Construction should begin in early September and be completed by the end of October 2019.
Local officials have expressed safety concerns over the buckling because it is a well travelled roadway.
