Lotto Max reaches $65 million, sets new jackpot record
Lotto Max has soared into new uncharted territory. For the first time ever, the Lotto Max draw on Tuesday, June 11 will offer a record-setting $65 million jackpot, plus 10 additional MaxMillions worth $1 million each.
Previously, the largest jackpot ever offered in Canada was a Lotto 6/49 draw worth $64 million in October 2015. It was won by a single winning ticket purchased in Mississauga.
The Lotto Max jackpot has been won 116 times since it was launched in September 2009. Fifty-nine of those were valued at $50 million or more.
There have been five jackpots won so far this year.
In its history, Ontario Lotto Max players have won $4.billion, including 63 jackpot wins and 558 MaxMillions.
Lotto Max draws are not held twice a week, on Tuesdays as well as Fridays. Players can purchase tickets at their lottery retailer, or play online at PlayOLG.ca until 10:30pm Tuesday, for the draw that evening.
