Front licence plate requirement eliminated next month

New Brunswick

Front licence plates on passenger and light commercial vehicles will no longer be required in New Brunswick on July 15th.

The change will remove the requirement to display two plates on vehicles weighing less than 4,500 kilograms.

The provincial government says tractor trailers, buses, school buses, fire trucks, dump trucks, and bucket trucks are among those vehicles that will still require the front plate.

The seasonal plate program will be repealed as of November 1st, and registered owners of vehicles with them will be sent details on how to replace their plates.
