New Fredericton Police Chief sworn in

The Fredericton Police Force says Roger Brown has been sworn in as the force's new Chief of Police.

In a Tweet, police say the new Chief was sworn in by Judge Julian Dickson at the Justice Building this morning.

Mayor Mike O'Brien and Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Jeff Trail were also in attendance.

Brown replaces outgoing Chief Leanne Fitch, who retired Monday after nearly 34 years with the Fredericton Police Force.

In a Tweet Monday, Fredericton Police thanked Chief Fitch for her "commitment to the organization, to her dedication to community safety and wellbeing, and for her leadership during her time as Deputy Chief and Chief."
