Storm Forces Tim McGraw To Cancel Saskatchewan Show
Bad weather in Craven, Saskatchewan forced Tim McGraw to cancel his appearance at the Country Thunder festival on Saturday.
Organizers told fans shortly after 11 p.m. that McGraw would not be able to perform because his band’s equipment had been damaged by a storm that rolled through earlier.
McGraw later shared a video clip on Twitter showing spectacular lightning while he warmed up with his musicians. “Sorry we were unable to come out last night due to the storms,” he wrote. “Hope everyone made it home safe!”
Earlier, Travis Tritt was forced to leave the stage after only four songs due to lightning.
“Such a bummer that my show @countrythunder was cut short tonight by weather and my buddy, @thetimmcgraw didn’t get to play at all,” he tweeted. “What can you do? Mother Nature is a fickle bitch sometimes. Be safe y’all!”
This is what happens to high end and expensive electronic equipment when severe weather strikes and high winds blow the covers off. Dangerous lightning prevented my crew from getting back onstage to cover everything back up. Water and electronics do not mix. pic.twitter.com/nsP29kWWK1— Travis Tritt (@Travistritt) July 14, 2019
