Attempted Robbery In Pembroke

Police are asking for help to find a man wanted in an attempted robbery in Pembroke on Monday night.

Upper Ottawa Valley OPP say it was around 8:00 p.m. on Monday evening (June 3), when a man with a weapon entered a store in the 600 block of Mackay Street, near Bell Street.

The man took off after an altercation with the store clerk.  The clerk was not injured.

Police say the suspect fled on foot toward Bell Street.

The OPP's Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit were unable to locate the man.

He is described as a man in his 20s or 30s with dark hair and a dark beard.

He was wearing black footwear, blue jeans and dark-coloured hooded sweatshirt.
