Child Dies Following Collision Near Pembroke


A tragic development from a collision near Pembroke last week. 

Police say a young child from Laurentian Hills who was injured in the two vehicle crash on Thursday on Forest Lea Road has died of his injuries in the hospital. 

He’s been identified as 4-year-old William Jones of Laurentian Hills. 

It was around 3 p.m. on Thursday when he was in one of two vehicles that collided on Forest Lea Road.

"A car was travelling on Forest Lea Road when it collided with another car as it was entering the roadway", reads an updated OPP news release issued on Sunday.

Police said there were a total of five people in the two vehicles.

The crash set off an extensive investigation, prompting the closure of the road for several hours. 

The investigation into the cause of that collision is ongoing and police would like to hear from anyone who may have information about the collision to reach out to them.
