Military Police Investigating Beating Of Petawawa Soldier Overseas
There are reports that an investigation is underway into the off-duty beating of a Petawawa soldier in Europe, reportedly at the hands of another, more senior-ranking soldier.
Postmedia says the military has launched an investigation after a private from the 3rd Batallion of the Royal Canadian Regiment was allegedly beaten unconscious by a sergeant while the two were off-duty in Germany.
The report says the private was taken to hospital at the time, then got a medical airlift back to Canada, and has since returned to duty.
Both soldiers were in Europe supporting Canadian troops who are deployed in Bulgaria on an exercise being led by the U.S.
