There are two new forest fires burning in and near Algonquin Provincial Park, this time north of the highway 60 corridor.

One fire is burning near Major Lake, about 10 km north of Whitney, and the other is burning about 5km northwest of Tea Lake, in the park's west end.

The fires are both under one hectare in size and were discovered on Monday.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says they are not yet under control.
