Police Investigate Petawawa Park Mischief

A case of mischief brought police to one of Petawawa’s public park areas early Tuesday morning.

Two wooden deer statues were chopped apart into pieces, at a small park along Murphy Road near Petawawa Boulevard.

The figurines were part of a sitting area established alongside the Algonquin Trail railroad corridor.

The mischief is believed to have taken place sometime between 9:00 p.m. on Canada Day and 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, and was reported to police early Tuesday morning by town staff.

Police say they are treating this as a criminal case of mischief.
