Road & Water Charges: Long Weekend Roundup
The numbers are in from a local campaign targeting the rules of the road - and the water - over the long weekend.
Out on the highways, Upper Ottawa Valley OPP say they laid 41 speeding charges, 16 hazardous moving violation charges, six seatbelt charges, and one for failing to move over for an emergency vehicle.
The move over law was a big focus, with drivers required to move one lane over if they safely can when an emergency vehicle or tow truck is parked on the side of a road with lights flashing.
Officers also laid two imparied driving charges.
And while they were patrolling the water, they laid one charge for a boater who was towing someone without having a spotter in the boat.
