Let's Go For A Dip!

The summer heat is already rolling in, and with it comes a longing for summer water fun. Two new inflatable water parks are opening in the province, and the City of Regina’s spray pads have opened a week early, with the pools not far behind.

Regina Beach Aquatic Adventures---This new water park in Regina Beach opened on Sunday, and features an inflatable structure measuring 70 feet by 70 feet. It has many features, including a large tower people can climb up, slide down and jump off, and “the wobble” — three circles you try to jump across.

Wild Waves Waterpark--This water park, located off the beach in Rowan’s Ravine Provincial Park, opens on June 28. It will also feature a massive inflatable structure, covering 148 feet by 118 feet of water space. Its features include teeter-totters, an iceberg, a trampoline and a cliff to jump off or slide down.

All 14 of the Queen City’s spray pads have opened a week earlier than usual after the recent bout of hot weather, and the city’s pools are following close behind with an opening date of June 13. It’s the farewell season for Wascana Pool, so Wascana will be free daily from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. As well, Dewdney Outdoor Pool will be free every day 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Regent and Massey pools will be open every day from noon to 8 p.m. the spray pads are all push-button, so no water will be wasted on cooler days when park visitors are less eager to get wet.
