Statement from Mayor Brian Bigger on the Passing of Pastor Jeremy Mahood

The following statement is from Mayor Brian Bigger:

"It’s with deep sadness that I learn about the passing of Mr. Jeremy Mahood.

Mr. Mahood has done so much good for our community and has always had a strong reputation in our community for his kindness, willingness to help others and for the positive impact he has left us with.

I know that the loss of Mr. Mahood will be felt not only at All Nations Church where he served as Pastor but across our entire community. At this time, on behalf of City Council, I would like to extend my heartfelt sympathies to the family, friends and loved ones of Mr. Mahood during this difficult time."

Pastor Jeremy served as pastor to the Sudbury Police Service.  He was also the chaplain for the Sudbury Wolves & Sudbury Five.  Mahood had just published a book on spiritual maturity called, "The Character of Christ in You - Developing Spiritual Maturity."  He was the enthusiastic leader of the annual Living Nativity celebration at Science North during Christmas.

Jeremy Mahood passed away just days before his 70th birthday.
