23 New Charges Laid Against Man Already Charged With Attempted Murder and Kidnapping

The Renfrew County Crime Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police have laid 23 additional charges against 72 year old William (Bill) Kirby of Mississippi Mills.

Kirby was first arrested back in September and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, kidnapping and criminal harassment.

Renfrew OPP Constable Janice Sawbridge says the 23 NEW charges involve 4 victims…

"And some of those charges include uttering threats, sexual assault, pointing a firearm, criminal harassment, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault, unlawfully causing bodily harm and mischief.”

Kirby, once an active part of the volunteer community in Arnprior, shocked area residents after he was arrested in a wooded area of McNab Braeside standing next to a woman laying on the ground suffering from critical injuries.

Kirby will be back in Renfrew Court later this month facing the additional charges.
