Bear Removed From Valour School Property

It should be back to a regular routine today at Petawawa's Valour School.

A bear cub that had been hanging out in a tree outside the school for two days was taken away yesterday afternoon.

The Renfrew County District School Board says the Ministry of Natural Resources live-trapped the bear just after 4 p.m. so it could be relocated.

The presence of the cub over the last two days had prompted the school to take extra security measures on the property, keeping students inside for recess, limiting access to building entrances and exits, and changing its dismissal time routines.
