Christmas Movie Scenes To Be Filmed In Pembroke
Calling all actors: Pembroke will be the backdrop for some scenes in an upcoming Hallmark Christmas movie.
The casting company "CastNorth" out of Sudbury has issued a call for extras for the scenes, which will be filming starting next week in the downtown Pembroke area, and at the historic Grey Gables Inn.
Pembroke Economic Development Officer Heather Salovaara says the project will be a positive boost for the city, at a time when the downtown has been enjoying an ongoing resurgence.
"We've really seen a change in conversation from people, becoming really positive about the downtown, and noticing a lot of really great changes", Salovaara told Star 96.7 News.
"So it really does encourage us and tell us that things are going positive. Things are looking good down there Merchants are doing really well down there, and it's all around a really good story for us", she said.
"We think Pembroke is pretty picturesque, so it's nice to see that someone else thinks that, and it's nice to see Pembroke turn into a Christmas town", she said.
Salovaara says the added benefits are the potential to attract tourism through the exposure, and the potential for businesses to benefit from the increased foot traffic".

A man went to Ripley's Aquarium in TO, undressed and then jumped in the water to swim with the sharks. The best part of this story? He managed to get out of the tank and flee before the police showed up!
New Yorkers don't have a reputation for being polite and friendly. Here's why! Omg!
What is funnier? The body language of this man when he realizes what will be demonstrated or the music that has been added to the video?
