City of Pembroke Votes to Get Rid of Muskrat Dam
The City of Pembroke has plans to get rid of the Muskrat River Dam.
On Tuesday night Councillors voted 6-1 to have the popular fishing spot demolished.
Mayor Michael Lemay says they will be looking into the cost and the removal won't be happening this year…
"staff will begin the process of preparing documents on how it will be done and when it will be done. Now, for instance we have no money in this year's budget to do it this year so this is an item that will have to be looked at in 2019."
Lemay adds the Dam is not safe for people to be on and hopes the public can respect the no trespassing signs posted at either end of the bridge.
