Clandestine Drug Laboratory to Blame for House Explosion in Pembroke
A clandestine drug laboratory is to blame for a house explosion on D'arcy Street in Pembroke last week.
31 year old Kurt Dehaan of Petawawa is facing several charges following the explosion of a butane marijuana extraction laboratory inside a private home.
He's charged with three counts of Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking - under 3 kg, one count of Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking - over 3 kg, one count of Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of Trafficking, one count of Produce a Schedule II substance, one count of Arson by Negligence, and one count of Possession of counterfeit money.
On March 8th, the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment responded to house explosion in the City of Pembroke. At the time of the explosion one adult man and a 3 month old child were inside the residence. Occupants were transported to hospital as a precautionary measure.
The investigation is ongoing and is being investigated by the Ontario fire Marshall Office and the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU). It was determined that the explosion was a result of a clandestine drug laboratory and CSCU members executed the search warrants on March 9th, 2018.
These men ought to be more cautious doing their job. That being said, let's just say that the security measures seem to be rather inadequate. DISTURBING CONTENT
