County Seeing a Spike in Fraudulent Canada Revenue Agency Calls
Renfrew OPP are warning residents about a spike in fraudsters claiming to be with Canada Revenue Agency.
Several attempted frauds were reported in the last week alone, where they claim people call insisting you'll be arrested if you don't send them money immediately of provide them with your social insurance number.
The CRA already has your SIN, and if you owe them money they will correspond with you through the mail. Do not give them anything, just hang up.
Report fraud attempts to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-866-495-8501 or online at www.antifraudcentre.ca
