Dark & Stormy Morning

Power outages hit parts of the Ottawa Valley early Thursday morning, just as a line of strong thunderstorms moved through the area.

Parts of the City of Pembroke lost electricity briefly just after 6:00am, but service was restored in less than 10 minutes.

Hydro One reported that some areas west and south of Algonquin Park were without electricity for longer periods of time.

There was also a small outage south of the Killaloe area which was restored early in the morning, and another in the Cobden area which was still under investigation at 8:00am.

The storms were part of a system that rolled across eastern Ontario just ahead of a cooler front that's expected to see temperatures dip below zero on Thursday night.
