Elevator Replacement Means Changes at PRH Tower "C"

A major elevator replacement project at Pembroke Regional Hospital will mean some big changes for patients this spring and summer.

The aging elevator in Tower C will be replaced starting in mid-May, a project that’s expected to take 12 weeks.

Officials say they’re working now to make changes for the many patients who use Tower C, including making new ground floor space available for some appointments, installing a stair lift to access some other floors, and deploying extra volunteers to help patients navigate the building.

The work is expected to be finished by mid-August.

Patients who use Tower C are asked to contact their physician as soon as possible to hear how the construction period may impact them.
