Fatal House Fire Near Killaloe
Investigators will be back at the scene of a house fire near Killaloe today, where one person was found dead.
The call came in just after 10 yesterday morning as a garage fire on Mask Road.
When crews arrived, the fire had already consumed the garage and spread to a breezeway.
Fire officials say it then spread to the home.
"The house started on fire next, until it too became a total loss", KHR Fire Chief Bob Gareau told Star 96.7 News.
Gareau says because it's currently hunting season, the number of volunteer firefighters available was limited, so his department called in mutual aid from North Algona Wilberforce.
"North Algona Wilberforce assisted us with both trucks and volunteers", Gareau said.
During the response, crews discovered a fatality in the garage area of the fire.
The OPP, the Fire Marshal's Office, the Coroner, and a forensic anthropologist were all called to the scene before fire crews could complete their response.
The remains were to be transported to Ottawa.
The OPP said on Wednesday evening that the remains have not yet been identified.
We'll have more information as it becomes available.

What is funnier? The body language of this man when he realizes what will be demonstrated or the music that has been added to the video?
