Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision Closes Highway 17
On September 1, 2017, shortly before 12:00 p.m., officers from Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Upper Ottawa Valley detachment, along with Technical Traffic Investigators (TCI) and Forensic Identification Services Unit (FISU) attended a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a motor vehicle and motorcycle on Highway 17 east of Deux Rivieres.
The passenger on the motorcycle was transported to hospital by air ambulance and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to hospital by ambulance with serious injury. The driver of the motor vehicle was not injured in the collision.
The westbound lanes of Highway 17 are closed and traffic is being diverted south on Highway 41 at Pembroke. Highway 17 will be closed for several hours while the collision is being investigated.
These men ought to be more cautious doing their job. That being said, let's just say that the security measures seem to be rather inadequate. DISTURBING CONTENT
