Fire in Cobden Treated As Suspicious

The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after a home in Cobden was destroyed by fire early Tuesday morning. No one was injured in the fire, which is being treated as suspicious.

 

Members of the Whitewater Region Fire Department responded to the report of a house on fire on Meadow Street in Cobden at approximately 4:30 am. The home was vacant at the time. After the fire was extinguished the Fire Chief contacted the OPP to report the fire and conduct an investigation. At this time the fire is being treated as suspicious. The Ontario Fire Marshall's Office is attending to assist with the investigation.
