German Technical Relief Team Helps With Flood Training
The County of Renfrew is getting themselves into a better position to deal with possible spring flooding.
On Monday members of the German Civil Defence Group were in Renfrew County providing training on flooding relief.
Mike Nolan the Director of Emergency Service and Paramedic Services for the County, says the German team was invited because they are leaders in flood mitigation and set the standards of emergency response, making them the best to learn from.
Several municipalities, emergency responders and County departments attended the training. They focused on provider safety, mobilizing volunteers and the most effective ways to battle rising flood waters.

A man went to Ripley's Aquarium in TO, undressed and then jumped in the water to swim with the sharks. The best part of this story? He managed to get out of the tank and flee before the police showed up!
