Golden Results For Local High School Nordic Skiers

Two high school athletes from Pembroke have captured gold medals at a provincial competition.

Sophie Levasseur of Equinoxe captured gold in the 6 km senior girls race, while Guillaume Pelchat, also from Equinoxe, captured gold in the 7.5 km senior boys’ race, by more than one minute.

Both were part of a large group of Renfrew County student athletes competing at the OFSAA Nordic Ski Championships near Collingwood on Thursday and Friday.
