HOUSE FIRE INJURES ONE IN RENFREW

The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded Friday morning to a 9-1-1 call and discovered a house fire on Mary Street in Renfrew.  The 9-1-1 call was received at approximately 10:40 am.  Officers could see smoke inside the home when they arrived.  They entered the home and removed an unconscious female.  The 88-year-old woman suffered burns and smoke inhalation and was transported to hospital by paramedics. 

The Renfrew Fire Department attended and extinguished the fire in the home.  The investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing.  The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall is attending to assist.  A portion of Mary Street in Renfrew is closed.
