Investigation Into Cause of House Explosion in Pembroke Continues
The investigation continues following an explosion at a home on D'Arcy Street in Pembroke.
Just before 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon (Thursday) the Pembroke Fire Department responded to the report of an explosion. When they arrived there was no fire but the exterior walls were heavily damaged by the explosion. Bricks were blown off the home, a hole was blown through one side and the entire structure has buckled.
All three residents of the home managed to get out safely with no major injuries. An infant was taken to the Pembroke Regional Hospital as a precaution.
Along with Pembroke Fire Fighters; Renfrew County Paramedics, the Ottawa River Power Corporation, Enbridge Gas, OPP and the City of Pembroke all responded.
The Red Cross is helping the family with their immediate needs.
These men ought to be more cautious doing their job. That being said, let's just say that the security measures seem to be rather inadequate. DISTURBING CONTENT
