John Yakabuski Wins Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke Riding

Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke has re-elected PC, John Yakabuski.

Yakabuski says when he was first voted in, in 2003 he always believed he would be part of the sitting government…
"After almost 15 years, that dream has been realized. I am so thankful to the people of Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke, the great people, the best people anywhere, who have shown their confidence and placed their trust in me once again, sending me back to Queens Park."

Locally Yakabuski was followed by the NDP's Ethel LeValley in second, and the Liberals Jackie Agnew in third.

The Progressive Conservatives won a majority last night in a "blue wave" that swept across the province. The P-C's captured 76 of the province's 124 seats. The NDP will take over 40 seats as the Opposition side of the legislature.  The Liberals lost official party status in a stunning collapse, only capturing 7 seats and the Green Party 1.

Liberal Leader Kathleen Wynne just barely won her riding, but has resigned as party leader.
