Long List Of Drug & Gun Charges

Three people are facing long lists of drug and firearms charges after being stopped by police just west of the Renfrew County border near Mattawa. 

It was around 4:30 in the afternoon on Tuesday when police say they stopped a vehicle for speeding in Papineau-Cameron Township, and became suspicious of the people inside. 

Officers seized substances they believed to be ecstasy tablets, meth pills, cocaine, cannabis, along with 2 revolvers, ammunition and a large amount of cash. 

According to the OPP news release, the following people were charged:

Krystal BOERTIEN, age 43, of Sudbury, Ontario, is charged with the following:

  •  Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA);
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Opioid, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA;
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Other Drugs (two counts) contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA;
  • Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition (two counts) contrary to section 86(1) of the Criminal Code (CC);
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm (two counts) contrary to section 91(1) of the CC;
  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon contrary to section 91(2) of the CC;
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (two counts) contrary to section 92(1) of the CC;
  • Possessing Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling contrary to section 10(2) of the Cannabis Act (CA);
  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There was Firearm (two counts) contrary to section 94 of the CC;
  • Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm contrary to section 95(a) of the CC; and
  • Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime (two counts) contrary to section 96(a) of the CC.

                                                                                          

Eric GRAVELINE, age 39, of Gatineau, Quebec, is charged with the following:

  •  Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA;
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Opioid, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA;
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Other Drugs (two counts) contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA;
  • Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition (two counts) contrary to section 86(1) of the CC;
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm (two counts) contrary to section 91(1) of the CC;
  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon contrary to section 91(2) of the CC;
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (two counts) contrary to section 92(1) of the CC;
  • Possessing Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling contrary to section 10(2) of the CA;
  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There was Firearm (two counts) contrary to section 94 of the CC;
  • Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm contrary to section 95(a) of the CC; and
  • Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime (two counts) contrary to section 96(a) of the CC.

 

Pascal LABELLE, age 41, also of Gatineau, Quebec, is charged with the following:

  •  Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA;
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Opioid, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA;
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Other Drugs (two counts) contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA;
  • Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition (two counts) contrary to section 86(1) of the CC;
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm (two counts) contrary to section 91(1) of the CC;
  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon contrary to section 91(2) of the CC;
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (two counts) contrary to section 92(1) of the CC;
  •  Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (three counts) contrary to section 117.01(1) of the CC;
  • Possessing Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling contrary to section 10(2) of the CA;
  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There was Firearm (two counts) contrary to section 94 of the CC;
  • Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm contrary to section 95(a) of the CC; and
  • Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime (two counts) contrary to section 96(a) of the CC.

The OPP is continuing their investigation.  All three accused have been remanded into custody pending bail at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay, Ontario.
