Moose Hunting Fines for Six Local Men

Seven Ontario residents have been fined a total of 19-thousand-250 dollars for moose-hunting violations.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says the men -- six from Barry's Bay and one from Sault Ste. Marie -- were hunting west of Thunder Bay in October when they were confronted by a conservation officer.

Court heard the group had a licence that allowed them to hunt one cow moose but an investigation determined that they'd shot two moose.

Both animals were forfeited to the Crown
