More Than 100 Speeding Charges Laid During Long Weekend Blitz by Local OPP

The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP has wrapped up their Canada Day Long Weekend Aggressive Driving Campaign. 

The 4 day blitz saw officers focus on speeding as well as other forms of aggressive driving, which include; following too closely, unsafe passing and lane changes, failing to yield right-of-way, and other dangerous high risk behaviours. 

Upper Ottawa Valley OPP officers laid several charges including 52 Speeding Charges, 13 Hazardous Moving Violation Charges, and 5 Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act Charges. Officers also laid 5 Impaired Driving Charges under the Criminal Code and 9 charges under the Liquor Licence Act. 

Killaloe OPP officers laid 97 Speeding Charges, 3 Seatbelt Charges, 2 Distracted Driving Charges, 23 Highway Traffic Act Charges, 24 Other Provincial Offence Act Charges, among others.
