No Grounds For Charges In Hwy 17 Crash
Police say there are no grounds for any charges at this time, in connection with this week’s serious crash on Highway 17 between Chalk River and Deep River.
Upper Ottawa Valley OPP say it was around 8 o’clock on Wednesday morning when a 24-year-old woman from Laurentian Hills who was driving west on the highway lost control of her vehicle and collided with an eastbound vehicle being driven by a 78-year-old Deep River man.
The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries while the woman received serious injuries.
The highway was closed for 8 hours during the investigation.
Police collision specialists have now finished their work and say there are no grounds to file any charges at this time.
