OPP Warnings About Construction Zones

Upper Ottawa Valley OPP are issuing reminders to slow down in construction zones.

With the construction season ramping up the  OPP say it's extremely important to slow down and be more cautions driving through construction zones, especially when workers are on-site.

The police say it is against the law to disobey Stop or Slow signs displayed by a traffic-control person and speed fines are also doubled in construction zones when workers are present.

Information on roads and construction projects in Ontario can be accessed through the Ministry of Transportation's Traveller Information Services, which provides road information for provincial highways in Ontario, by calling 5-1-1 or by visiting the MTO Ontario 511 website at www.ontario.ca/511.
