A Vigil was held at Garrison Petawawa yesterday marking the 50th anniversary of the death of 7 paratroopers.
On May 8, 1968, 7 paratroopers were killed during a training exercise on the Garrison, when they landed in the icy waters of the Ottawa River. The paratroopers who died were a part of the 2nd Signal Squadron and 1st Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment.
A man went to Ripley's Aquarium in TO, undressed and then jumped in the water to swim with the sharks. The best part of this story? He managed to get out of the tank and flee before the police showed up!
