Pembroke Man Charged in Connection with MacKay Street Robbery
On June 06, 2017 members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit and Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a Criminal Code (CC) search warrant at a residence in the City of Pembroke. A baseball bat, drugs and property believed to belong to the robbery victim were seized as part of the investigation.
As a result 22 year old Matthew BILSON of Pembroke was arrested and is facing the following CC and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) charges:
- Robbery with a Weapon
- Assault with a Weapon
- Uttering Threats
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Fail to Comply with Probation - 4 counts
- Possession of a Schedule II Substance - Cannabis Marihuana under 30 grams
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methylenedioxyamphetamine (Ecstasy)
He was held for a bail hearing on June 07, 2016 at the Ontario Court of Justice.
The investigation is continuing and police are still seeking a second male suspect in relation to this robbery. The second suspect is described as a white male with his hair being cut short right to the scalp.
