Pembroke Men Charged With Drug Offenses After Street Bust

Two Pembroke men face drug charges after a police bust on the streets near the downtown last week.

On April 10, Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Community Street Crime officers observed what police called an "exchange" between two men on MacKay Sreet near Sussex Street.

Both men were arrested, resulting in a search and seizure of drugs, cash and drug paraphernalia.

In a news release, the OPP announced that 40 year old Thomas Bresseau of Pembroke faces several charges:

* Trafficking a schedule I substance - methamphetamine

* Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine

* Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine

* Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime, under $5000

Meanwhile, 38 year old Christopher Mirault of Pembroke is charged with:

* Trafficking a schedule I substance - methamphetamine

* Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine

* Fail to comply with probation - two counts

Both men were released on a promise to appear in court in Pembroke on May 7.
