Petawawa Man Accused Of Stealing Cash from Minor Hockey Event

A Petawawa man is accused of stealing what police call a “sizeable sum of cash” from a minor hockey event, and reporting it to the OPP as a theft.

The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP say their Crime Unit was called early this month with a report that cash had been stolen from someone’s vehicle.

Police say an investigation determined that the theft did not occur as reported.

In a news release, the OPP announced that 37 year old Michael Edward Landry of Petawawa has been charged with two criminal code offences:  theft over five thousand dollars and public mischief.

He was arrested on Saturday, April 12 and is scheduled to appear in Pembroke court on May 21st.
