Record-Breaking Heat In The Valley

Yesterday's unusually warm weather was enough to unofficially break a record in the Upper Ottawa Valley.

Environment Canada says the temperature hit 28.3 degrees at the weather monitoring station at Garrison Petawawa.

That shatters the previous record for October 9th of 24.4 degrees, set back in 1970.

A second record may have also been broken with the early morning downpour received in the Pembroke and Petawawa areas.

A measurement isn't in yet, but the previous record for an October 10th rainfall was just 11.7 millimeters, set back in 1975.
