Safe Driving Week Underway

With the unofficial start to summer coming up this weekend, local OPP detachments will be taking part in the annual Canada Road Safety Week campaign.

It started yesterday and runs through the end of the Victoria Day long weekend, to May 21st. The seven day campaign is a collaborative effort by Canadian Police Services which targets high risk driving behaviours that puts all road users at risk.  OPP officers will be highly visible in the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment area to ensure the safety of our community, our visitors and those travelling through the Upper Ottawa Valley.

The "The Big 4" major causes of death and injury on our highways, specifically impaired driving, aggressive driving, distracted driving and seatbelt misuse will be targeted.

  • The Toronto Man Who Swam Butt Naked With Some Sharks

A man went to Ripley's Aquarium in TO, undressed and then jumped in the water to swim with the sharks. The best part of this story? He managed to get out of the tank and flee before the police showed up!
  • Rough Welcome

New Yorkers don't have a reputation for being polite and friendly. Here's why! Omg!
  • The Infamous Butt Drag

What is funnier? The body language of this man when he realizes what will be demonstrated or the music that has been added to the video?
