A freezing rain warning has been issued for part of Renfrew County for Wednesday.

Environment Canada says the Barry's Bay - Killaloe corridor along with Algonquin Park, Whitney-Madawaska, and the Deep River area can expect more freezing rain than others this afternoon and this evening, which could last for several hours.

As a result, all school bus transportation has been cancelled in the Madawaska and Deep River areas.

The rest of the Valley is also expected to see freezing rain, but perhaps not as much as those in the warning corridor.

Texas Low

It's all part of a messy weather system that will start as a snow and ice pellet mix late Wednesday morning, before making the transition to freezing rain and then changing to rain Wednesday afternoon or evening.

15 to 25 millimetres of rain can be expected in most areas by Thursday morning.

This wintry precipitation is associated with a Texas Low that is tracking across the area.

However, the long range forecast calls for sun and warm temperatures this weekend.
