St. Joseph’s Food Bank scores big at Garrison Officer’s Hockey Tournament

Through the generosity of the officers of Garrison Petawawa, and in cooperation with St. George’s Chapel, a kind donation was made on Friday to Pembroke’s St. Joseph’s Food Bank at the completion of the 18th Annual Garrison Officer’s Hockey Tournament.

The Officers of Garrison Petawawa are proud to present a cheque, through coordination with St. George’s Chapel, of $3,755.65 to support St. Joseph’s Food Bank in Pembroke.

The Garrison Officer’s Hockey Tournament has been an annual event going back to 2001 that celebrates cohesion, friendly competition and comradery. Since 2002, the tournament began accepting monetary and non-perishable food donations help make an impact and give back to our surrounding communities.

This year, the tournament, typically a basic round-robin format, was given a facelift to include an added layer of fundraising, competition and comradery through a player draft, where players are drafted and traded to different teams.
