Stunt Driving Charges Laid on First Day of Road Safety Week Campaign
Canada Road Safety Week continues and Upper Ottawa Valley OPP have already charged 2 people with Stunt Driving.
Yesterday afternoon an 18 year old man was pulled over on Highway 17 for going 142km per hour in a 90km/hour zone. The driver was charged with Operating a Motor-Vehicle while Performing a Stunt- and charged with Speeding.
Yesterday afternoon police also pulled over a driver on Highway 17 in the Laurentian Valley area. The 60 year old driver was going 170 km/hour in a 90 zone. He was also charged with Operating a Motor-Vehicle while Performing a Stunt- and charged with Speeding.
During Road Safety Week there will be increased patrols on our roads and officers will be looking out for the "Big 4", which are impaired driving, distracted driving, aggressive driving and lack of seatbelt.
